Community Guidelines
Last updated: April 7, 2026 | Effective: April 7, 2026
1. Introduction & Scope
Buzzire is built to be a warm, inclusive, and respectful space for people of all ages and backgrounds seeking meaningful connections. Whether you're here to find a life partner, a meaningful relationship, or simply someone to share great conversations with — these guidelines exist to protect you and every other member of our community.
These Community Guidelines apply to every aspect of your Buzzire experience, including:
- Your profile — name, photos, bio, interests, and all other profile fields
- All messages, voice notes, and media shared in private chats
- Interactions on the Explore screen, Elite Lounge, and all discovery features
- Behaviour during and after matches, including in-person meetups
- Any content or information shared through the app in any form
By creating a Buzzire account or continuing to use the app, you agree to follow these guidelines. We review and update them periodically to ensure they reflect the evolving needs of our community.
2. Be Authentic
Authenticity is the foundation of meaningful connections. We expect every member to represent themselves honestly on Buzzire.
What we expect:
- Real name: Use your actual first name (or the name you go by). Nicknames are fine, but don't impersonate someone else or use a clearly fake identity.
- Recent photos: Upload photos that accurately represent how you look today. We recommend photos taken within the last 6–12 months. Your primary photo should clearly show your face.
- Truthful information: Your age, location, occupation, education, and bio should be accurate. Don't exaggerate or fabricate details.
- Profile verification: Complete selfie verification when prompted. This helps build trust across the community and earns you a verified badge.
What's not allowed:
- Catfishing — using someone else's photos or pretending to be another person
- Using heavily filtered, morphed, or AI-generated photos that misrepresent your appearance
- Creating profiles for fictional characters, celebrities, or public figures
- Lying about your age, especially to circumvent age requirements
- Using group photos where it's unclear which person you are
3. Be Respectful
Every person on Buzzire deserves to be treated with dignity and kindness, regardless of whether you're interested in them or not. Good manners go a long way in building a healthy dating community.
Treat others with kindness:
- Be polite and considerate in all interactions, even when declining interest
- If someone isn't your type, simply pass — there's no need for harsh words or unsolicited criticism
- Remember that there's a real person behind every profile with real feelings
- Cultural, religious, and lifestyle differences should be respected, even if they don't align with your own
Absolutely not tolerated:
- Harassment: Repeated unwanted messages, aggressive behaviour, or pursuing someone who has expressed disinterest
- Bullying: Mocking, belittling, or intentionally humiliating another user
- Intimidation: Threats, coercion, blackmail, or any attempt to frighten or control another person
- Hate speech: Slurs, derogatory language, or discriminatory remarks based on race, ethnicity, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, body type, or any other characteristic
- Body shaming: Negative comments about someone's weight, height, appearance, or physical features
- Unsolicited advice: Telling someone to change their appearance, lifestyle, or beliefs
💡 Remember: If someone doesn't respond to your message, it's not an invitation to send more. Respect their space and move on. There are plenty of people on Buzzire who'd love to connect with you.
4. Consent Matters
Consent is at the heart of every healthy interaction — both online and offline. On Buzzire, consent is enthusiastic, informed, and can be withdrawn at any time.
- Never share intimate or explicit content without the other person's clear, voluntary consent
- Do not screenshot or record private conversations or photos to share with others
- Do not pressure anyone into sharing personal photos, meeting in person, sharing their phone number, moving to another messaging platform, or doing anything they're not comfortable with
- Respect "no" in all its forms: A direct "no," an indirect excuse, silence, or a change of topic all mean the same thing — stop
- Consent can be withdrawn at any time: Even if someone previously agreed to something, they have the right to change their mind
⚠️ Important: Sharing, distributing, or threatening to distribute intimate images of another person without their consent (commonly known as "revenge porn") is a criminal offence under Indian law (Section 66E of the IT Act) and will result in an immediate permanent ban and referral to law enforcement.
5. Keep It Safe
Your safety and privacy are paramount. Here's how to protect yourself and others on Buzzire:
Protect your personal information:
- Never share your home or work address in your profile or early conversations
- Do not share financial details — bank account numbers, UPI IDs, credit card numbers, or payment information
- Keep government IDs private — Aadhaar, PAN, passport, or driver's licence numbers should never be shared
- Do not share login credentials, passwords, or OTPs with anyone
- Be cautious about sharing your full name, workplace details, or social media handles with people you've just matched with
Watch out for scams:
- Never send money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency to someone you've met on a dating app — no matter how convincing their story is
- Be wary of people who profess strong feelings very quickly ("love bombing")
- Be suspicious of anyone who can never video chat or meet in person
- Don't click on suspicious links sent through chat messages
- Report anyone who asks you for money or financial assistance — this is almost always a scam
🛡️ Buzzire Safety Tip: If something feels too good to be true, it probably is. Trust your instincts and report suspicious behaviour. Our team investigates every report.
6. Appropriate Content
Buzzire is a platform for building meaningful connections, and the content you share should reflect that. We maintain high content standards to ensure a comfortable experience for everyone.
Profile Photos — What's allowed:
- Clear, well-lit photos that show your face
- Photos that represent your interests, hobbies, and personality
- Family photos (as secondary photos, not your main profile picture)
- Travel, activity, or event photos that include you
- Professional headshots or casual everyday photos
Profile Photos — What's NOT allowed:
- Nudity or sexually explicit content (even partially)
- Photos that focus on or sexualize body parts
- Photos of minors as the primary subject (children may appear in family context only)
- Graphic or violent imagery
- Photos showing drugs, drug paraphernalia, or illegal substances
- Photos displaying weapons (guns, knives, etc.)
- Memes, text-only images, or screenshots instead of actual photos
- Stock photos, celebrity photos, or images that aren't of you
- Photos with offensive gestures, symbols, or text
Bio & Written Content:
- Keep your bio genuine, interesting, and respectful
- Do not include sexually explicit language or innuendo
- No hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language
- Do not include contact information (phone numbers, social handles, email) in your bio to prevent spam and protect your privacy
- No promotional content, URLs, or advertisements
7. Messaging & Communication
Once you match with someone, communication should be respectful, genuine, and consensual. Here's what healthy messaging looks like on Buzzire:
Good messaging practices:
- Start with a thoughtful message that shows you've read their profile
- Be patient — not everyone responds immediately
- Keep conversations respectful and appropriate
- If the conversation isn't flowing naturally, it's okay to move on
- Ask before sharing voice notes or media
What's not allowed in messages:
- Unsolicited sexual or explicit messages or media
- Repeated messaging after someone hasn't responded or has expressed disinterest
- Threatening, abusive, or harassing language
- Spam, chain messages, or copy-pasted mass messages
- Soliciting money, favours, or personal information
- Sending links to external sites, especially those that could be malicious
- Recording or screenshotting conversations to share publicly
8. No Spam or Commercial Activity
Buzzire is for personal connections, not commercial gain. Using the platform for business purposes undermines trust and the experience for everyone.
- No advertising: Don't use your profile or messages to promote products, services, businesses, or brands
- No solicitation: Don't solicit other users for business opportunities, MLM schemes, crypto investments, or paid services of any kind
- No spam: Don't send repetitive, automated, or bulk messages
- No redirecting: Don't direct users to external websites, apps, or social media accounts for commercial purposes
- No paid companionship: Buzzire is not a platform for escort services or any form of paid companionship. Profiles offering or soliciting such services will be permanently banned
- No bots or automation: The use of automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the platform is strictly prohibited
9. Account Integrity
To maintain fairness and trust in the Buzzire community:
- One account per person: Each individual may have only one Buzzire account. Creating multiple accounts is prohibited
- No account sharing: Your account is personal to you. Do not share your login credentials or let someone else use your account
- No ban evasion: If your account has been suspended or banned, creating a new account to circumvent the ban is a violation and will result in further action
- No manipulation: Don't use tricks, exploits, or third-party tools to manipulate the matching algorithm, inflate your profile visibility, or gain an unfair advantage
- Accurate account information: The phone number and email address associated with your account must be yours and must be accessible for account recovery and verification
10. Minors Are Not Allowed
Buzzire is strictly for adults aged 18 years and above. We take this requirement extremely seriously.
- Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account
- We verify age during registration and reserve the right to request additional verification
- Any user discovered to be under 18 will be immediately and permanently removed from the platform
- Any content, behaviour, or communication that sexualizes, grooms, or exploits minors in any way will result in an immediate permanent ban and will be reported to law enforcement authorities, including NCPCR (National Commission for Protection of Child Rights) and local police
- Sharing, requesting, or possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is a criminal offence and will be reported under applicable Indian and international law
⚠️ Zero Tolerance: Any activity involving the exploitation, abuse, or endangerment of minors results in immediate, permanent banning and law enforcement referral. There are no warnings, no appeals, and no exceptions.
11. Physical Meetups & Offline Safety
When you're ready to take a connection from the app to real life, safety should always come first. While Buzzire can't control what happens offline, we want to equip you with the knowledge to stay safe.
Before you meet:
- Video chat first — it helps confirm the person matches their profile and builds comfort
- Tell a trusted friend or family member where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back
- Share your live location with someone you trust
- Research the venue — make sure it's a well-known, public place
During the meetup:
- Always meet in public: Cafes, restaurants, malls, parks — avoid private residences for first meetings
- Arrange your own transportation: Drive yourself, take a cab, or use public transport. Don't depend on your date for a ride
- Stay sober: Keep your wits about you, especially on a first meeting
- Watch your belongings: Don't leave your phone, drink, or bag unattended
- Trust your gut: If something feels off, it's completely okay to leave. Your safety is more important than being polite
After the meetup:
- Check in with your trusted contact to let them know you're safe
- If anything concerning happened during the date, report it to Buzzire support and local authorities if necessary
- Block and report anyone who makes you feel unsafe or who behaved inappropriately
12. Reporting & How to Get Help
We rely on our community to help us keep Buzzire safe. If you encounter anyone violating these guidelines — or if something just doesn't feel right — please report it.
How to report:
- In-app reporting: Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) on any user's profile and select "Report User." Choose the relevant reason and add any details that will help our team investigate
- Email reporting: Send a detailed report to support@buzzire.com with the subject line "User Report." Include the offending user's name/profile details, a description of the violation, and screenshots if available
- Emergency situations: If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (100 — Police, 112 — Emergency) first. Then report the incident to us
What happens after you report:
- Our moderation team reviews every report within 24 hours
- Reports are confidential — the reported user will not know who reported them
- We investigate thoroughly before taking action, which may include reviewing chat history, photos, and profile activity
- Action is taken based on the severity of the violation (see Enforcement section below)
- For serious violations, we may involve law enforcement
✅ Safe Reporting: You will never face negative consequences for reporting in good faith. However, filing false or malicious reports is itself a violation and may result in action against your account.
13. Enforcement Actions
When we determine that a user has violated these Community Guidelines, we take action proportional to the severity of the offence. Our goal is to educate where possible and protect the community at all times.
For minor, first-time offences like an inappropriate bio or borderline photo. You'll receive a notification explaining the violation and how to fix it.
For repeated minor offences or moderate violations like harassment lite or spam. Your account will be suspended for 24 hours to 30 days.
For severe violations including abuse, hate speech, threats, fraud, exploitation, or any illegal activity. This is immediate and irreversible.
Additional enforcement actions may include:
- Content removal: Offending photos, bio text, or messages may be removed without prior notice
- Feature restrictions: Certain features (like messaging or matching) may be temporarily restricted
- Shadow restrictions: In some cases, visibility in discovery may be reduced for accounts showing patterns of low-quality behaviour
- Law enforcement referral: For criminal activity, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement and provide relevant data as required by Indian law
14. Zero Tolerance Policy
Certain behaviours are so harmful that they warrant immediate, permanent action with no prior warnings. We have an absolute zero tolerance policy for:
- Sexual abuse or exploitation of any kind
- Child safety violations — any content or behaviour involving minors
- Threats of violence — direct or implied threats to another person's physical safety
- Stalking or doxxing — following someone in real life based on app information, or sharing their private information publicly
- Non-consensual intimate content — sharing or threatening to share intimate images without consent
- Fraud or financial scams — romance scams, requesting money, impersonation for financial gain
- Human trafficking or exploitation
- Terrorism or violent extremism
- Any illegal activity under Indian or international law
⚠️ Permanent & Irreversible: Violations under this Zero Tolerance Policy result in immediate permanent banning. The decision is final and not eligible for appeal. Relevant information may be shared with law enforcement and national databases.
15. Appeals Process
If you believe your account was suspended or banned in error, you have the right to appeal. We're committed to being fair and transparent in our enforcement.
How to appeal:
- Send an email to support@buzzire.com with the subject line "Account Appeal"
- Include your registered phone number or email address
- Provide a brief, factual explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect
- Attach any relevant evidence or context that supports your case
Appeal timeline:
- Appeals are reviewed by a senior member of our moderation team
- You'll receive an initial acknowledgement within 48 hours
- A decision will be communicated within 7 business days
- If the appeal is successful, your account will be restored with full history
- Each enforcement action may be appealed only once. The second decision is final
Note: Actions taken under our Zero Tolerance Policy (Section 14) are not eligible for appeal.
16. Updates to These Guidelines
As our community grows and the online dating landscape evolves, we may update these guidelines from time to time. When significant changes are made:
- We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- For material changes, we'll notify users through in-app notifications or email
