Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 7, 2026 | Effective: April 7, 2026
1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how JBAC Innovations Private Limited ("Buzzire", "we", "us", "our"), a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013 (CIN: U62012GJ2026PTC173156), with its registered office in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you:
- Visit our website at buzzire.com
- Use the Buzzire mobile application on Android or iOS
- Interact with our emails or marketing communications
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains in detail how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
By continuing to use our website or app, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this policy. You can manage your preferences at any time (see Section 8).
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website. They serve a variety of purposes — from remembering your login status to helping us understand how people use our platform so we can improve it.
Similar technologies we use:
- Local storage: Similar to cookies but can store larger amounts of data in your browser. Used for theme preferences and session management on our website
- Session storage: Temporary storage that is cleared when you close your browser tab. Used for form data and navigation state
- Device identifiers: Unique identifiers associated with your mobile device, used for app analytics and push notifications
- Pixel tags / web beacons: Small transparent images embedded in web pages or emails that help us track engagement
- SDKs (Software Development Kits): Code libraries embedded in our mobile app that provide functionality like analytics, crash reporting, and payment processing
Throughout this policy, we use the term "cookies" broadly to refer to all of these technologies unless otherwise specified.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
We categorize cookies into four types based on their purpose. Here's a summary:
| Category | Purpose | Can You Opt Out? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Required for the website and app to function. Without these, core features like authentication and navigation won't work. | No — these are strictly necessary |
| Analytics | Help us understand how users interact with our platform so we can improve features, fix bugs, and make better decisions. | Yes — via device settings or by contacting us |
| Preference | Remember your choices like dark/light mode, language, notification settings, and other personalizations. | Yes — but your experience may be less personalized |
| Marketing | Currently, we do not use marketing or advertising cookies. If we introduce them in the future, we will update this policy and provide opt-out options. | N/A — not currently used |
4. Detailed Cookie Breakdown
4.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of our website and app. They enable fundamental functions without which the service cannot operate as expected.
| Cookie / Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase Auth Token | Maintains your login session and authenticates API requests. Without this, you'd need to log in every time you open the app. | Until logout or token expiry (1 hour, auto-refreshed) |
| Session ID | Tracks your active session for security purposes, including detecting unauthorized access attempts. | Session (cleared on app close) |
| CSRF Token | Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks on web forms. | Session |
| Device Registration Token | Required for delivering push notifications about matches, messages, and important account updates. | Persistent (until app uninstall or token refresh) |
4.2 Analytics Cookies
We use analytics to understand usage patterns and improve the Buzzire experience. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized wherever possible.
| Cookie / Technology | What It Collects | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase Analytics | Screen views, feature usage frequency, user flow through the app, session duration, device type, operating system version, general location (country/city level), and crash/error reports. | Up to 14 months |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash logs, stack traces, device state at time of crash, and affected app version. Helps us identify and fix bugs quickly. | 90 days |
| Firebase Performance Monitoring | App startup time, network request latency, screen rendering performance. Helps us keep the app fast and smooth. | 90 days |
🔒 Privacy note: Analytics data does not include your profile content, messages, match history, or any personally identifiable information. We never sell analytics data to third parties.
4.3 Preference Cookies
These cookies remember your settings and choices to provide a more personalised experience.
| Cookie / Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Theme Preference (bt) | Remembers your dark/light mode choice on our website so you don't need to set it every visit. | Persistent (localStorage) |
| App Settings Cache | Stores your notification preferences, discovery settings, distance preferences, and filter selections locally on your device for faster app performance. | Persistent (until app data cleared) |
| Language Preference | Stores your preferred language for the app interface. | Persistent |
| Onboarding State | Tracks whether you've completed the onboarding flow so you aren't shown it again. | Persistent |
5. Cookies & Tracking in the Mobile App
The Buzzire mobile app uses device-level storage and SDKs rather than traditional browser cookies. Here's what's used and why:
Device Identifiers
- Firebase Installation ID: A unique identifier for your app installation, used for analytics and push notification delivery. This ID is reset if you uninstall and reinstall the app
- Advertising ID (IDFA/GAID): We currently do not access or use your device's advertising identifier. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent where required
Local Data Storage
- AsyncStorage / SecureStorage: Used to store your authentication tokens, app preferences, and cached data locally on your device. This data never leaves your device except through authenticated API calls
- Image cache: Profile photos and media are temporarily cached on your device for faster loading. This cache is automatically managed and cleared periodically
- Chat cache: Recent messages are cached locally for offline access and faster loading. Cached data is encrypted at rest
Background Services
- Push notification service: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) runs in the background to deliver notifications about new matches, messages, and important updates. You can control notification preferences in the app settings or your device settings
- Location services: When enabled by you, location is used for proximity-based discovery. Location data is processed on our servers and is not stored as a cookie. You can revoke location access at any time through your device settings
6. Third-Party Services & Their Cookies
We use carefully selected third-party services to provide and improve Buzzire. Each of these services may set their own cookies or collect data according to their own privacy policies.
We regularly review our third-party integrations to ensure they align with our privacy standards. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
7. How Long Do Cookies Last?
Session Cookies
These are temporary cookies that are deleted when you close your browser or app. They're used for things like maintaining your login state during a single browsing session and protecting form submissions from CSRF attacks. Session cookies are never written to permanent storage.
Persistent Cookies
These cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you manually delete them. They serve important functions:
- Authentication tokens: Valid for 1 hour, automatically refreshed when active. Fully cleared on logout
- Theme preference: Stored indefinitely in localStorage until cleared
- Analytics data: Firebase Analytics retains data for up to 14 months. Crashlytics data is retained for 90 days
- App preferences: Stored until you clear app data or uninstall
- Push notification token: Active until app uninstall or manual token refresh
8. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have control over the cookies and tracking technologies used by Buzzire. Here's how to manage your preferences:
On our website (buzzire.com):
- Browser settings: Most modern browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. Common paths include Settings → Privacy → Cookies
- Block all cookies: You can configure your browser to block all cookies, but this may prevent essential website features from working (such as theme preferences)
- Delete specific cookies: You can find and delete Buzzire-specific cookies through your browser's developer tools or cookie management interface
In the Buzzire mobile app:
- Notification preferences: Go to Settings → Notifications to control which notifications you receive
- Location services: Go to your device Settings → Apps → Buzzire → Permissions → Location to enable or disable location access
- Clear app data: Go to your device Settings → Apps → Buzzire → Storage → Clear Data. Note: this will log you out and reset all app preferences
- Analytics opt-out: Contact us at support@buzzire.com with the subject line "Analytics Opt-Out" and we will disable analytics collection for your account within 48 hours
Browser-specific instructions:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
💡 Note: Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of our website from functioning correctly. We recommend keeping essential cookies enabled for the best experience.
9. Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites. There is currently no industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals.
While we currently do not respond to DNT signals specifically, we want to assure you that:
- We do not use advertising or marketing tracking cookies
- We do not sell your data to third parties
- We do not track you across other websites
- You can opt out of analytics as described in Section 8
We will continue to monitor developments in DNT standards and update our practices accordingly.
10. International Users
While Buzzire is primarily designed for the Indian market, we welcome users from around the world. If you're accessing Buzzire from outside India, please note:
- Your data is processed and stored on servers that may be located in India or other countries where our service providers (like Google/Firebase) operate
- If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on your consent for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies or contacting us
- For users in jurisdictions with specific cookie consent requirements (such as the EU ePrivacy Directive), we respect your right to refuse non-essential cookies
- Regardless of your location, we apply the same privacy standards to all users
11. Children's Privacy
Buzzire is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect cookies or tracking data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will take immediate steps to delete that data.
If you believe a minor has accessed Buzzire, please contact us immediately at support@buzzire.com.

- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- For significant changes (such as introducing new types of tracking), we will notify users through in-app notifications or email
- Previous versions of this policy are archived and available upon request
- Continued use of Buzzire after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy
We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
